Brunching & Baseball All Weekend: The Anaheim Angels

After the excursion that was San Diego, we had already planned for the next night to go to the Angels game in Anaheim. Because how else do you celebrate the ultimate baseball fan's birthday but without back to back baseball games? We left San Diego the morning of the Angel's game around 11ish, and stopped for brunch (are you sensing a theme here) at a place called Olive Cafe in Mission Beach. We parked down the street at a beach, and walked to the Cafe which is on a little side street. It was so cute, and we ended up having perfect timing because right around the time we placed our order and sat down outside (they bring you your food), the line got crazy long.

I ended up getting coffee (per usual) and a sandwich again because what better way to start your day with carbs at brunch? Christian got the french toast, which was also amazing, and some lemonade (his favorite). It probably took about 15 minutes from the time we ordered until our food came out, which was good because we were STARVING. After brunch, we drove back to Anaheim and all decided we would meet up later to go to the game.

One of our friends recently moved into a house that is walking distance to Angels stadium, so we decided to all park there. Christian & I met up with our friends Corey and Vanessa for a late lunch at my favorite place, Cortinas. Afterward, we got coffee and chatted about life for a bit. It's so nice to be able to catch up with friends when you get the chance. We drove to their house, and then all walked to the game.

Angel's Stadium isn't my favorite stadium, but I love it because it was my first MLB game ever, and because the Angels are Christians favorite team. We've been to a few games there now, and we have made so many memories that we created there. The game itself was good - we had good seats, along the first baseline (my favorite spot to sit in) - though I could have brought four more jackets and that would have been okay.

After the game, we all walked back to the house and I had to say goodbye to my friends. I was leaving the next day after Christian and I had breakfast at Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland hotel (one of our favorite places). Baseball will always hold a place in my heart, even though I'm still figuring some of the rules out, because I get to see it through Christian's eyes and how much he loves them.

I'm hoping that I can catch another game in September when I go to visit Christian, but we'll see if I make it out in time.
