Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Today I want to tell you about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (jesus christ that's a long name). Now, I bought all of these myself, just in case you were wondering..., and when I saw them in the stores I was immediately intrigued. What got me about them was the fact that they look like a giant crayon. I know they're not the first of their kind, but they are some of the most affordable [at least for me...I can't exactly afford four Tarte crayons, or Clinque Chubby Sticks]. The four colors that I have are 005 Crush, 020 Lovesick, 025 Sweetheart Valentine, and 045 Romantic.

I absolutely love these things. The color Romantic is the perfect red lip color and Crush is the perfect color for fall/winter. Sweetheart Valentine and Lovesick are two recent additions, but they're a really great color for the spring time (not winter like I'm supposed be shopping for...oopz). These go on so smoothly but they're not greasy at all. Plus, I feel like they're super moisturizing, but they aren't too heavy on the lips. They don't sit on top of my lips, but rather they conform to my lips. They fall into the cracks, but don't make it look like they're too cracked (did that make sense?).

I get a lot of wear time out of these, even after I've eaten (though not after I've immediately put them on). When it does dry, it dries evenly without leaving product in random areas. I love how they look after an hour or two of wear. They look so good! My favorite part? No transfer or smudginess (such a technical term).

Now, you may laugh at me, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get more product at first. However, it's just a super easy twist up (and down!) at the bottom of the packaging. Some people say that they smell like peppermint, but I don't really smell it at all really. When I first opened my two more recent purchases, I could smell it a bit more than the ones that have been open for a little while.

Overall, I think these are a really good purchase for someone who wants a little bit of lip color but not really a lipstick! Yes, I know they're not swatched on my lips, but these things have some staying power y'all. It would take me four days to swatch these just because they really do last that long.

Have you tried these before? What did you think about them?

  1. Haven't tried these colours before but saying this, we don't seem to get the same colours or they aren't called the same things in England as they are in America. I have a lovely Black Cherry Revlon lipstick which I love :) these colours look lovely though, I wouldn't mind trying the Romantic one!

Great blog, I am now following you!

    1. Thanks so much Hailes!

I think it's so crazy that they don't name the products the same things, nor the colors. Especially since I follow a lot of British bloggers and they'll post about one that I could maybe get, but the color name is all wrong.

    1. Crush is my all time favorite right now. I've been wearing it non stop as soon as the weather has gotten a little bit colder, although it's not much!
