My Last Bid Day

Sorority life is forever a mix of emotions. It's an amazing experience, but at the same time an emotional roller coaster (just like my senior year). This year was my last Bid Day. If you're not familiar with this, basically after going through a week of formal recruitment, bid day is the big party at the end.

We got over 100 new members on bid day this year, which is a TON of people, and I couldn't be happier. At the same time, it's weird seeing my pledge class, the senior pledge class, and how small we were compared to all these new members.

Unfortunately I was still in my boot for bid day, so walking down the row only happened once for me, and I didn't run down the row (obviously) with the rest of the seniors. But honestly, I'm okay with that. We ended up having a really great day.

It threatened rain in the morning (and even sprinkled a little bit) but by the time it was time for the new members to run down the row and join us, the rain had subsided. After they came running down the row and we got to see all the precious new members, we headed to the charter buses and went bowling. Galactic bowling, to be exact.

Bowling is always a lot of fun, but being a senior it just felt like all the pressure was off our shoulders and it was time to just relax and have a great time. We danced, drank a lot of caffeine and even bowled a little bit.

I'm sad my time is coming to a close in a sorority (in May!), but so excited to see what the future brings.

Were you in a sorority? Would you ever join one?
