Field Trip Friday: Ostia Antica & Hiking the Riserva

The last time I did a field trip Friday, I talked about how we went to Cittavecchia and saw the old Etruscan ruins. This time, I'm going to be talking about two different trips. One friday we went to Ostia Antica, one of the first port towns in Rome. The last friday we went to a nature reserve and went hiking to find an old abandoned church.

Honestly, I don't really have too much to say about either of these places. Ostia Antica was alright, but for me it just wasn't that interesting. The Riserva that we went to on the other hand was absolutely beautiful, but we just went hiking, it wasn't really anything to write home about.

Of all the three places we went, the last place (the Riserva) had to be my favorite trip. Solely because we got out of the city for a little bit. It was so nice to not be in the city for once, and just to be in nature, hiking. Now, I love to hike on a normal basis, so that has a bit to do with it as well.

And for now, I'll leave you with pictures! The first five pictures are from Ostia Antica, and the last six pictures are from the Rivera.

Have you ever been on a vacation where you went hiking or camping? Or are you more of a city person?
