A Hard Day's Night

I've got a pretty big family, and since my grandparents are quite old (they'll both be 90 this year), they enlisted in some of us to go over to their house and help clean up outside, for a little bit of spring cleaning.

My family will take any excuse to get together and make a day out of it, so we started bright in early in the morning with breakfast, then we worked until lunch time and grilled. Then we finished all the work, took a little nap while 'watching a movie', and then boiled crawfish later that night. We were in New Orleans with my grandparents for a good 12 hours that day, and by the time I got home I was exhausted.

Because we've got so many people in our family, it was hard to always be working and doing something, so sometimes we were just sitting around waiting for the next job order.

But there was always enough 'supervisors' on the job, you can be sure of that.

We even got the little boys to help out....

...only for them to create a fort out of the branches.

All in all it was a good day, and really great to see the majority of my family before I left for Italy!

My grandparents and all their kids!
Do you have a big family? How often do you get to see them?
